26, 2008 - 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Continued Hearing - FOSC v. Clear
Valley Environmental Farm, LLC.The Hearings
Examiner will continue hearing the appeal brought by FOSC and
others opposing the Shorelines, Grading and SEPA permits
sought by Clear Valley to convert 396 acres of farmland
into a commercial wetland bank. Developers would
purchase credits in the bank in order to fill other
wetlands in the watershed. Please call your friends
and plan to attend. Location is the Commissioners Hearing Room, 1800
Continental Pl. Mount Vernon. Written public
comments or fax now need to go to the Commissioners until
the Hearings Examiner issues his decision. To let the
County Commissioners know your position on wetland
mitigation banks and/or farmland loss call 336-9300 or
send an email to commisioners@co.skgit.wa.us.

FOSC
ART SHOW & SALE at Artists Cooperative Gallery, Until
October , open 11 am to 2 pm Wed. thru Friday;
Saturday evening during Lincoln Theatre events. Artists
Cooperative Gallery, Pine Square, Mount Vernon is hosting
FOSC's Art Show and Sale. Works by Becky Fletcher,
Ron Farrell, Michael Stark, Kathleen Faulkner, Ruth, Tom
Pickett, Betty Miles and other artists. A percentage of
all sales will go to Friends of Skagit County's work to
stop sprawl and preserve resource lands. For more info email

WA Growth Management Hearings Board hearing Case No.
07-2-0025c FOSC, Evergreen Islands v. Skagit County and
the City of Anacortes.
This
case appeals various issues on the 2005 Comprehensive Plan
update, consistency with the Growth Management Act, county
policies and other issue on rural Skagit development. For
